Aroon with MA (H1)

An H1 trend and phase method that combines Aroon Up-Down with a Moving Average to time shifts from range to trend.

Tools & settings

• Aroon(14) or Aroon(25) to detect fresh highs and lows.
• MA(50) or EMA(50) for bias and dynamic structure.
• ATR(14) for stop sizing and volatility filter.

Idea

Aroon signals when a new high or low was seen recently while MA provides the path of least resistance. We trade when Aroon crosses or aligns with the MA bias and price confirms by closing through a level.

Long setup

1. MA is rising and price holds above it.
2. Aroon Up crosses above Aroon Down or remains dominant. Trigger: confirmed close above the micro level or a retest that holds above MA.

Short setup

1. MA is falling and price stays below it.
2. Aroon Down crosses above Aroon Up or remains dominant. Trigger: confirmed close below the micro level or a failed reclaim under MA.

Risk and management

• Stop loss: beyond the MA swing or ATR(14) x 1.1-1.6.
• TP1: 1.0R-1.5R partial; TP2: trail by HL-LH or MA pullbacks.
• Skip trades into major news and avoid mid-range chop.
