EURUSD M5 Noise Breakdown Scalping

Exploit M5 noise compressions on EURUSD: wait for a boxed range to compress, take the break-and-hold trigger, and manage risk with tight ATR stops.

EURUSD M5 Noise Breakdown Scalping

Scalp EURUSD on M5 by attacking breaks out of micro “noise” ranges.
Define a small noise box from recent bars, wait for compression (overlapping candles, shrinking true range), then trade the break‑and‑hold with strict risk.

Tools

  • Noise box: last 12–24 bars; mark the tightest high/low cluster.
  • ATR(14) on M5 for stop and position sizing.
  • Optional: EMA(20) for dynamic structure; session levels for context.

Context

Signal logic

  • Compression: 3–6 small/overlapping candles, ATR contracting.
  • Break: full‑body close outside the box with little opposite wick.
  • Hold: next bar does not close back inside the box.

Trigger

  1. Place a decision level at the box edge.
  2. Enter on close through the edge (or a quick retest that holds).
  3. If price re‑enters the box within 3 bars, cancel the idea.

Break and hold

Entry

  • Market on close of the trigger bar, or limit on a shallow retest of the broken edge.

Stop Loss

  • ATR(14) × 1.0–1.4 or beyond the opposite box edge (whichever is wider).
  • If a bar closes back inside the box, exit — structure failed.

Take Profit

  • First scale: 1.0R–1.5R.
  • Runner: trail behind micro‑swings or a tight EMA20; exit into prior session levels.

Filters

  • Avoid minutes around high‑impact EUR/USD news (±30–60 min).
  • Skip when the box lies mid‑range between nearby major levels.
  • Risk ≤ 0.25%–0.5%; one active position per symbol.
