Renko Gold Strategy (XAUUSD, H1)
A clean H1 Renko workflow for XAUUSD.
We use Renko bricks to remove noise and a simple trend filter to avoid counter‑bias flips. Entries come on brick reversals with confirmation.
Tools
- Renko chart with a pragmatic brick size (e.g., 200–400 points for XAUUSD; adapt to volatility).
- Trend filter: EMA50/200 slope or HH/HL vs LH/LL structure.
- ATR(14, H1) for stop and position sizing.

Market logic
Renko compresses time and emphasizes directional moves. Filtering flips with the prevailing slope/structure removes most chop.
Setup checklist
- Bias: EMA slope up/down or structure prints HH/HL (bull) vs LH/LL (bear).
- Flip: a brick color change prints with the bias.
- Confirm: small follow‑through (next brick continues) or a level reclaim.
Trigger
- Long: bullish brick prints after a bear leg, with the up‑bias and close through a local level.
- Short: mirrored conditions for down‑bias.

Entry
- Enter at close of the signal brick or on a shallow pullback into the flip level.
Stop Loss
- Beyond the flip origin (two bricks behind) or ATR(14) × 1.2–1.6 (wider).
Take Profit / Management
- TP1: take 1/2 at 1.2R–1.5R.
- TP2: trail remainder behind the last opposite brick or EMA50; reduce into session/weekly levels.

Filters & risk
- Avoid trading when Renko whipsaws (alternating single bricks).
- Stand aside into tier‑1 USD news.
- Risk ≤ 0.5% per position; one active trade per direction.
