Smart Trader (H4)

An H4 swing framework called Smart Trader: define bias, wait for a clean impulse, then join on structure with tight risk.

Screenshot 1

Tools and settings

  • HTF context from D1-H4; LTF confirmation on H1 if needed.
  • EMA20-EMA50 for slope and pullbacks; ATR(14) for stop sizing.
  • Optional: session markers and key highs-lows for targets.

Screenshot 2

Idea

We do not predict tops or bottoms. We piggyback the impulse and enter on reclaim or break-pullback-hold patterns.

Screenshot 3

Long setup

  1. Bias up: EMA20 above EMA50 and price building higher lows.
  2. Impulse up, then shallow pullback that holds above structure. Trigger: close through the micro level or retest that holds; avoid entries into nearby HTF supply.

Screenshot 4

Short setup

  1. Bias down: EMA20 below EMA50 and lower highs forming.
  2. Impulse down, then weak bounce failing below structure. Trigger: close through micro level or failed reclaim; avoid entries into HTF demand.

Screenshot 5

Risk and management

  • Stop: beyond swing extreme or ATR(14) x 1.1-1.6.
  • TP1: 1.0R-1.5R partial; TP2: trail by structure pivots or EMA20.
  • News filter and avoid mid-range chop.

Screenshot 6

Notes

Risk <= 0.5% per trade; one active position per symbol; no revenge trading after stopouts.

Additional guidance

Favor trades with confluence of HTF bias, fresh impulse, and clean micro structure.

Example walkthrough

Map bias, mark impulse, wait for pullback-hold, confirm by close, manage via ATR and swings.
